Was responsible for maintaining and enhancing several backend services related to outbounds logistics.Container FittingThe Container Fit service finds the best container to hold multi-item orders. I enhanced our Container Fit service to scale with increased load and provide better fitting suggestions, specifically for non-rigid items. Under my tenure the service adhered to five 9s of uptime and served tens of thousands of fitting requests with sub-second latencyDemand Forecast ServiceLead engineer in overhauling Deliverr’s demand forecasts. Demand forecasts predict future order counts in each geographic region which is necessary to keep inventory stocked and enable 2 day delivery promises across our fulfillment network. I built a data pipeline that ran historical analysis on past data to predict future demand trends. I also built and maintained the web service responsible for supplying this data to other services.

Discovery at Scale (Dscale) – Data Ingest Lead DeveloperDscale is a big data processing platform that runs analysis on a variety of data sources. This system fuses 10+ commercial and classified data sources (images, signals, text, etc) into a single global dashboard spanning various countries of interest. Built and maintained the ingestion and processing pipeline for commercial data sources. Led integration of data pipelines with classified Kubernetes environment on AWS. TBs of data has been downloaded, processed, tagged, exported, and acted upon.Greenfield – Project Lead:Greenfield is a prototype analytical environment for the IRS meant to modernize their development platform. The Greenfield stack is an OpenShift (Kubernetes) based platform to allow IRS analysts to quickly deploy new algorithms. Analytics packages were wrapped in web based micro services to facilitate advanced IRS workflows. Our workflows provided a webapp that allowed analysts to prioritize which tax returns should be audited by the IRS first. As team lead on this project my role was to design the system and security from the ground up, recruit and coordinate a team of 5 developers, and ensure timely and feature-full deliverables.SymphonyTM – Patent Author: Systems and Method for Deploying, Securing, and Maintaining Computer-Based Analytic Environments Issued #10,795,709Symphony is a system for building security accredited (FISMA moderate)analytical environments in the cloud or on premise. Symphony uses Ansible and Terraform to provision big data tools in the Cloudera stack and other tools used by developers. Core developer and POC for projects seeking to use Symphony. Lead technical editor, and one of the named inventors of the SymphonyTM patent.

Wrote big data analytics (MapReduce + Storm) for the Army. Scaled out NLP algorithms to deduce names, places, locations, and their relationships from a large dataset that were persisted to Accumulo. My roles were to help write, enhance, and debug our NLP programs, manage the team’s development VMs, and help deploy code within the Army’s test site.
