• Ensure that the engagement manager and partner are informed about important audit or accounting issues on a timely basis.• Ensure that engagements are executed in accordance with the firm’s methodologies and guidance, and professional standards, on a timely basis, and within budget (or provide reasons why budgets exceeded).• Ensure the fieldwork team’s compliance with internal (methodology and risk management)/external (regulatory) requirements and management arrangements.• Ensure all client deliverables are prepared on a timely basis to a high technical standard and presentational quality (including draft financial statements, management letters, business review memorandums and other client communications).• Draft realistic but challenging budgets, and monitor time spent on engagements.• Assist executives with billing and collection processes.• Secure and enhance client relationships with the appropriate level and present a favorable impression of the firm.• Develop and maintain an appropriate external network of business contacts.• Coach and mentor less experienced professionals.• Understand the skill-set of the engagement team and ensure that the individual team members are allocated sufficiently challenging work.• Appraise team members in a constructive and timely manner.• Live our shared cultures and values at all times and encourage team members to do the same.
