-Tested Retail Meat Enterococcus isolates for resistance patterns using Mueller Hinton Agar disk diffusion assays.-Speciated and genotyped those isolates by doing DNA isolations and running PCR, gel electrophoresis, sequencing, and running ncbi BLAST.-Presented data collected over the summer at the SURE Veterinary Medicine research day event.

-Used Microsoft Excel and Matlab to provide an algorithm for determining heart arrhythmia from MIT-BIH Database ECG biomedical signal records only by looking at the RR interval patterns.-Conducted a plethora of relevant literature review and research on the topic of interest.-Presented data collected at the URO REX summer research event and will continue to work on an application that incorporates this algorithm to be used in conjunction with wearable ECG-detecting devices.

Studied the role of protein gp78 in cancer metastasis by looking at its ubiquitilation process under stressful conditions (mitophagy).Spent the majority of my time shadowing one of the researchers, learning new information about the research, and critically thinking and asking relevant questions.Technical skills learned include: fluorescent tagging, confocal microscopy, SDS Page, Western Blotting, Eukaryotic cell culturing, antibody production.
