Focusing on the commissioning of and eventual analysis of data from the new, state-of-the-art jet and upsilon detector known as sPHENIX at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider!

Currently I am a graduate student working under Professor Megan Connors. My research at Georgia State is focused on two fronts. Number 1 is the development of sPHENIX's hadronic calorimeter subsystem, and number 2 is analyzing heavy ion collisions from data collected by the PHENIX particle detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. I also am the former event manager and current standing president of the Physics Graduate Student Association. My duties as both are to act as an interface between the department and graduate students, as well as performing and organizing any activities to help take some of the stress out of being a graduate student.
