He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army Reserves after serving with the 338th General Hospital Reserve Unit, in Niagara Falls, New York.Alan enjoys traveling and touring historical locations, is a novice genealogist, loves trying new coffee spots and microbreweries, collects comic books with his son, but most of all he looks forward to spending time with his family. He has a lifelong commitment to community involvement, devoting his time and energy to a wide range of community and civic organizations. He is currently working on a book for new and aspiring leaders in the nonprofit arena.
