Perspective is essential for understanding. Being too close or too far away from something can completely change the ability to see opportunity or risk. My experience, knowledge and analytical skills not only give me perspective, but they give me the ability to adjust dynamically. Furthermore, my communication skills make it easier for others to understand my insights. I recognize perspective can change everything, and knowing that is essential to success.My career has encompassed a broad range of disciplines and industries. I’ve worked for industry leaders like Microsoft and Dell as well as running my own startups. I’ve been successful in systems administration, software development and enterprise technology sales consulting. I’ve worked in infrastructure, applications, networking and cloud. I continue to broaden my experience in machine learning, big data and analytics. I’m able to utilize all of this experience in a modular fashion, drawing recognizing which skills work best in a given situation and being adept enough to interchange the tools efficiently. While this makes me more productive, I know when to bring others in as necessary and I proficiently communicate the needs and expectation with them.As my career progresses I hope to further my skills in the broad field of Artificial Intelligence, and specifically in Machine Learning and analytics. Currently, the technology and availability of data have finally caught up to the research and concepts in AI. Theory is becoming reality and we are continually discovering new uses for these tools. I can focus my mind and efforts on projects and find new insights and innovations, and I am looking forward to getting deeper into applications of ML analytics.I consider myself so fortunate to live in these rapidly evolving times. Not often, if ever, have people lived in a time during which they could straddle the historical seams of both “how is was before” and “how it’s going to be from now on”. Recognizing that helps me appreciate its importance.
