Computer Science student at Rochester Institute of Technology with an Associate's degree from Monroe Community College, currently seeking a co-op position in computer science and software development, where I can leverage my skills, experience, and passion for technology to contribute to innovative projects. I am currently working as a full-stack software engineer & research assistant for RIT's National General Aviation Flight Information Database project. The NGAFID is capable of identifying potential safety concerns via tens of thousands hours of avionics data, promoting safer standards in the aviation community. Over several months, I've made a number of contributions, including a number of bug fixes and new features. Included among these are fixes to the parallel-upload processing system, an email preferences interface for site users and developers, and a site-wide interface overhaul/modernization which included a toggleable dark mode.I previously worked as a "Code Sensei" at Code Ninjas in Greece, NY, where I mentored the next generation of programmers in game development using a variety of tools, such as JavaScript, Scratch, Scratch Jr., Microsoft MakeCode Arcade, Unity (C#), and Roblox (Lua).Over the years, I've cultivated a strong foundation in programming, with proficiency in languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, and Python, among others. My passion extends to game development, having dedicated over 7 years to self-teaching design, programming, and even crafting art, music, and sound assets. I released my first publicly available game, "Ring War," on Steam, which encompasses advanced features like online multiplayer, intricate AI enemies, and an extensive item system. I primarily develop games using GameMaker, whose proprietary C-style language has since given me the adaptability to solve every programming problem that I have encountered, regardless of the language. My academic journey has been recognized with scholarships, which include the RIT Trustee and RIT Presidential scholarships.
