Currently a Software Engineer with the Emerging Talent Software Engineer program at JP Morgan Chase, learning the ropes and making some fantastic applications.The ETSE program is full of people with a non-traditional entrance to tech, and I'm no exception. I worked at Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor for 6 years, and for the last year, I was teaching myself how to code. For a while I didn't have a clear career direction, so I fixed that by learning JavaScript. The loop of code -> break (intentionally and unintentionally) -> debug -> code is deeply satisfying for me. After 8 months of self study, I decided to take the plunge, quit my job, and go to a bootcamp so I could get into the industry faster than I would on my own.Tech Elevator helped me grow so much in a short time, and was the reason I heard about my current position, I can't say enough good things about my time there.Now I'm finding my footing in my team's codebase and learning what direction I want to grow next!
