I developed stronger communication and problem-solving skills through my daily interactions with work colleagues, fire industry professionals, building owners, building managers, tenants, community members, and public servants like Fire Inspectors and members of various fire departments across Southwestern Ontario. While working alongside CFAA fire alarm technicians and sprinkler fitters, I assisted in the annual, semi-annual, and monthly inspection and testing of fire alarm systems and both wet and dry sprinkler systems in a variety of assembly, residential and commercial occupancies. I was responsible for monitoring the fire panel, annunciators, communicating with my colleagues which devices (fire alarm or sprinkler) went into alarm, their corresponding zone, and recording any other information on the device that is necessary for the report.
