I worked at the tech startup Ronday Technologies on their online 3D conferencing and hangout platform. As to be expected of startup work, I performed a myriad of tasks both design-related and otherwise.

I led a cross-discipline group of 16 students to design and create a free online mathematics problem database. My responsibilities involved:- initial and continued product planning and adaptation to fit the needs of the requester;- supported communications between the math students, the computer science students, and my employers;- created detailed timelines to provide clarity;- monthly meetings with my employers to receive feedback, inform them of our progress, and discuss future development- software (HTML, SQL, Php, Javascript) and design development (Figma);

I taught college credit bearing courses in Modern Blues Social Dancing. During this time I taught with a co-instructor and a teachers assistant, and I coordinated with them to draft weekly lessons. Additionally, I improved my teaching techniques over time as part of a reflective assignment I completed each semester the class was held.

- Oberlin Student Anti-Misconduct Policy Trained (2017)- Oberlin Undocumented Ally Trained (2017)During my time as an RA, I supported 63 students through academic semesters. My duty involved a weekly meeting with other RAs to discuss problems and brainstorm solutions. Also, I performed bi-weekly inspections of the buildings assigned to me and report any failings to facilities. Lastly, I conducted weekly office hours and monthly programs in order to make myself accessible to my residents.

I was among the inaugural year of the PAL program, where upperclassmen were assigned a cluster of freshmen and held weekly classes to help them adjust to college life. Throughout the semester I also attended reflection trainings where multiple PALs would gather and discuss what techniques had worked best for them.

As part of an NSF grant I researched and studied at a Virtual Reality Applications Center in the Human Computer Interaction department of ISU. During which I was assigned to various Interaction Design applications of Virtual Reality as well as Augmented Reality. It was an absolutely mind-blowing experience to see the breadth of possibilities for Virtual Reality in fields like entertainment (obviously), medicine, construction, and more. Alongside studying C++, Maya, and Unity and their respective space in Virtual Reality, I also researched 3D-printing microchannels that induce laminar flow.Afterwards I promised to pick up a VR headset if one came out that did not require a computer connection or to set up cameras. I bought an Oculus Quest as soon as they released, and I have been enjoying it ever since.

For a month-long project I decided to try something extremely outside of my norm, I flew to Guam to assist a Graduate Student with their Hydrogeology research. During the month I performed routine meteorological field measurements, assisted in the removal of a large rusted iron spike in local neighborhood water well, analyzed and graphed 20+ years of water salinity data, and utilized Guam’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data for mapping topography against subsurface water flow. It was a really exciting experience to challenge myself with something so new.
