About Aidan Seeley

Aidan is the Programme Director for the BSc Medical Pharmacology programme at Swansea University Medical School. He is also a Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator for several modules delivered within the Medical School at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Aidan is Co-Principle Investigator within Swansea Worm Integrative Research Laboratory (SWIRL) investigating novel in vivo models for pharmacology education and research. His research mainly focuses on developing novel in vivo tools for studying drugs of abuse. He is also a lead developer of SUMS3D, a 3D printing suite within Swansea University Medical School, developing novel models for pharmacology education.Externally, Aidan has been involved with the British Pharmacological Society for a number of years. He was the Society's first Trustee (Early Career Pharmacologist) from 2016-2018 and served as the Chair of the Early Career Pharmacologists Advisory Group from 2019-2021. He is now a member of the Education & Training Committee. He has been awarded the Society's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Prize in 2020, the Rang Prize for Excellence in Teaching in 2021 and was elected as Fellow (FBPhS) in 2022, the Society's youngest Fellow since it's founding. In 2024, Aidan was awarded Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
