Working in the restaurant industry has proven to bear fruitful rewards. The firsthand cooking, preparations, and sanitation has all improved my focus and determination. My physical strength has built endurance, resistance, and quick reaction time. Starting back in high school, I worked for my family and would help around when I could outside of school. Though I didn’t work for many hours at the beginning, I started to grow in not only my skills and hours, but in options. I have worked at Circo Circo Mexican restaurant, and Trapper’s Sushi Co. in Kent Washington. Then I branched into Seattle where I worked at Seattle Pacific University as well as delivering food for Uber Eats. From there I reached out to volunteer at North Queen Anne Child Care to build more skills like leadership, and public speaking. Then came the journey of moving to Ellensburg Washington.In Ellensburg I continued my college education as a third year at Central Washington University. While here I studied hard and formed more business-related skills. I had acquired Excel certification, refined skills in Word, Access, and PowerPoint. I brought Financial Accounting, business law, and professional writing skills from my previous education. I secured a job with Central Washington University and have learned more about cooking, communication, and developed more knowledge on being financially structured. I value all the experience I have gathered and apply most of what I learn in all positions I have been in. No matter the task, I make sure to end the day learning more than the last. Life is all about learning, passing on knowledge, and striving for excellence; that is what I intend to do. My peers have expressed respect in my reliability, openness in perspectives, and quality work.
