WrapUp is a social enterprise specializing in creating artisanal products from upcycled plastic wrapper waste which is otherwise not recycled. It was started by a mother-daughter duo who are passionate about reducing the waste ending up on the streets of Karachi. Our team of artisanals are women from low income backgrounds who we train in-house. We aim to create products that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional. We are continuously innovating, striving to refine our products for consumers and trying to develop further processes that make the end product completely unrecognizable from our starting raw material, which is mostly the waste from plastic wrappers used in food packaging.In addition to product creation, WrapUp also has an educational arm which organizes workshops and programs in schools, spreading awareness among school children and communities about waste management and reduction of one’s carbon footprint. It also aims to mobilize children and communities to take small actions and become change makers themselves.We take our impact a step further and teach communities, specifically children from financially challenged backgrounds how to make upcycled goods themselves, thus inspiring them and equipping them with new skills.We also partner with Al-Furqan Welfare Organisation, an organisation committed to the social and moral uplifting of families and also a beneficiary of our company.

- Developed and led comprehensive in-house technical training programs for fresh apprentices, different levels of CNC machine operators and Offline CNC Machine Programming for both CNC Turning and CNC Milling.- Created technical training manuals for different trades and skills within the domain of mechanical manufacturing, such as grinding- Designed and executed the company's first Young Apprentice Training Program, a program to train high school students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds in the domain of Mechanical Manufacturing

-Was part of the team that designed, developed, manufactured and delivered, the indigenous Ultra Light Volume (ULV) sprayer within 4 months to combat the National Emergency of Desert Locust Upsurge in Summer 2020, running concurrently with the Covid-19 pandemic. - Consulted and worked with the experts from Department of Plant Protection Pakistan (DPP), National Locust Control Centre (NLCC), the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan (NDMA) and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation UN)- Developed a unique method to qualify the sprayer in record time and prove the ability of the sprayer to create Controlled Droplets (CDA technology) previously unable in PakistanThe special features of ULV sprayer are that it uses very low quantity of pesticide and only affects locusts, thus having a very low environmental impact. Unlike other sprayers which cause significant damage to the environment, the flora and other fauna good for the environment such as lizards and subsequently the other larger animals that consume them. The technological challenge associated with mastering this technology was significant. As per the FAO only one company in the world had the ability to manufacture this, but I am pleased that our team and myself were able to rise to this challenge in the time and able to avert a National Emergency in record time.
