Aspiring conservation scientist and current PhD candidate at the University of Plymouth, specializing in animal communication and cognition, with a focus on big cats. I hold an MSc in Zoo Conservation Biology from Manchester Metropolitan University, where I published research on father-cub affiliations in solitary felids, in collaboration with Parc des Félins Zoological Park. My research was also presented at the EAZA General Conference 2023. My degree has given me a sound knowledge of ecology, biology, behaviour, conservation, genetics, statistics and practical techniques.With extensive hands-on experience as an animal keeper and care technician across multiple zoos and wildlife parks, I have a deep commitment to animal welfare, husbandry, and conservation. I have managed a wide range of taxa, contributed to conservation breeding programs, and led public education initiatives to promote understanding of wildlife.In addition to practical skills, I am proficient in statistical analysis, GIS, sound analysis, camera trapping, and species distribution modeling, using tools like R, BORIS, and DISTANCE. I am continuously developing my knowledge through professional certifications in wildlife conservation, animal breeding, genetics, and welfare.I am passionate about using science to improve animal care standards, conserve endangered species, and contribute to the global understanding of animal behavior.Actively looking to pursue a career in animal husbandry or conservation research as I believe it is our moral responsibility to safeguard the future of the world’s most threatened fauna and flora.
