I joined the workforce at 16 having received a stack of application forms as a gift from my parents. Little did I know at the time that it would send me on a career journey with many twists, turns, experiences and friendships. Over the last 18 years I have worked in numerous sectors of retail, leisure, sales, public transport and been self employed. I'm a keen learner and have never wanted to do the same thing twice, even when making lateral career moves. I became a manager at the delicate age of 19 and have always had a people first approach to the way I lead teams. I am a firm believer that by getting to understand what motivates your team as individuals, you can build a collective all pulling in the same direction for personal and professional benefit. I'm also a firm believer that you never stop learning which is why I spent 6 years studying with the Open University to achieve my degree alongside working full time. Following that I achieved my CPC Transport Manager Qualification in under 2 months and then went on to qualify in TEFL and TESOL all whilst maintaining my full time management positions. Since Covid I have also taken up volunteering, volunteering at 3 fan conventions across Scotland, North America and Canada. I also volunteer with the Marine Conservation Society as a community presenter and beach clean organiser.
