Financial AnalystUcsf Apr 2011 - Sep 2011San Francisco Bay AreaWhile with the San Francisco campus of UC, I led the analysis of complex financials, reporting and award management operations for clinical research for the division of Hematology and Medical oncology department. I managed up to 50 projects per month and made contributions and recommendations on contracting practices, analyzing expenses and preparing financial reports and forecasts that were presented directly to the Chief, MSO and principal investigators.I led the analysis and research of operations of a low performing lab and identified where the lab was out-sourcing much of their research. Because of this, the research costs were not being appropriately charged to the clinical trials, therefore costing quite a bit of money to be wasted. I made a recommendation (that was approved) to improve this process by implementing tracking and charging that would bill the appropriate clinical trial and recoup the costs of the outside research, while maintaining the integrity of the research and trials being performed.I further managed up to 160 active clinical trials and residual contracts that held up to $4M in annual expenditures with high-level accuracy. -
