【About me】I am Tan Ai Ying, from Johor, Malaysia. I graduated from National Chi Nan University in Taiwan with a bachelor degree in Southeast Asian Studies and minoring in the credit course of Southeast Asian New Immigrant Psychological Counseling. Due to the relationship between my own country, Malay is a foreign language that I must know, and because the Department of Southeast Asian Studies has a compulsory language course, I took 2 years of basic Thai and 1 year of Thai reading and Thai conversation courses. Minor in counseling-related credit courses gave me the opportunity to take courses in cross-cultural counseling, and also allowed me to learn critical storytelling, cultural empathy, and cross-cultural helping skills.【Participate in the Aboriginal Youth Association and the Amis Student Association】I have lived in a multi-ethnic country since I was a child, so I am particularly interested in ethnic groups with different cultural backgrounds, so I joined the above two kinds of associations when I was in university. My position in the Aboriginal Youth Association is the leader of activities department; in the Amis Student Association, my position is secretary and general affairs. As a cadre in different positions, I learned the importance of multi-party coordination, communication and teamwork, and also increased my ability to solve problems and make judgments. Through these associations, I have met friends from different disciplines and even different ethnic groups, which greatly increased my courage and ability to express myself in public.【Work Experience】I worked as a project research assistant and teaching assistant in the school, and also worked as a part-time worker in a tourist factory outside of the school. From the experience of working as different types of assistants in the school, I learned how to systematically classify official documents, as well as the filing of administrative materials. I also learned the sequence of dealing with different affairs in this job. As a part-time worker at a tourist factory, I learned how to interact with guests and how to receive and guide them. This job also gave me the opportunity to train my on-the-spot reflexes. Although my work experience is not rich, I am very confident in my attitude towards doing things, and I will work hard to complete the work assigned to me by my superiors, and learn with an open mind.
