As an Admissions Counselor my time is split up into multiple duties throughout the academic year.My primary responsibility is to counsel and advise potential applicants as well as newly admitted students and their parents with regard to admission, enrollment, housing, financial aid, course selection and general concerns. From September until November I visit three schools a day throughout California presenting oral and multi-media presentations to parents and prospective students and the rest of the year we are expected to provide a weekly presentation to visiting families. In addition to the regularly scheduled visits we've Re-instituted UC Santa Barbara's Los Angeles to Santa Barbara (LA2SB) Visit Program for underrepresented Black student. These all day opportunities including organizing on campus activities with various departments as well as student groups. Our hope is to help students see themselves at the University. In order to fully provide the best services for interested applicants we've hired four Admissions Interns to help complete our Yield Activities and provide a first hand perspective of services for student success in underrepresented populations. With their assistance we were able to update and edit a resource guide for incoming Black Students about the benefits of attending UCSB and on campus resources they would find once they arrived. I hope to provide more resources to other underrepresented students in my time here at UCSB.

This program is designed to inspire students to follow their passion for Health care professions. As a Faculty Advisors I was responsible for providing educational experiences for all participants of the Medicine and Health Care program through facilitation and instruction using a hands-on educational curriculum.

The mission of my internship was to help the Admission Counselors bring a more diverse student population to Occidentals campus. Along with another Intern I organized housing and transportation for five separate 3-day overnight visits, called our Multicultural Visit Program, for high achieving admitted students. After this project was done we were trained on how to lead information sessions for high school students about to admissions policies, housing options, and financial aid.

Supervised Day Camp activities for groups of 6/7 year olds and planned and organized Arts and Science projects for the after-camp and extended day programs.
