Worked on a Data warehousing project at The National Stock Exchange of India Limited .There we used Informatica as an ETL tool for daily data loading activities. All the Informatica workflows were scheduled at there respective timelines. We made use of SAP BI for reporting purposes. There were many regulatory reports that were scheduled based on the respective calendars and timelines. Also there were adhoc reprorts that were fired.Unix was majorly used as far as shell scripts are concerned.We used shell scripting for mostly automating processes and most of the data loading.We made use of latest trending EMC GreenPlum database appliance. This appliance is highly suited in this case due to enormous volumes of data present .Made use of Pivotal - HAWQ which is a GreenPlum database sitting over an HDFS file system.So we were able to use the advantages of HDFS, and also the querying power of GreenPlum.All the database querying part was done using PostgreSQL .
