My degree in chemistry from Indiana University coupled with my previous experience as a scientist working directly for the Drug Enforcement Administration, G.D. Searle and Northern Telecom, as a patent litigation associate at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, and as a patent prosecution associate at Fish & Richardson, combine to provide an invaluable background to my practice. My training as an analytical chemist and close work with inventors in life sciences and chemistry uniquely position me to understand chemistry and life science-based inventions. My experience in litigation related to patents has enabled me to view the drafting, prosecution and analysis of patents with a litigator’s eye.I have worked to obtain patent protection in various technologies ranging from adhesives, superabsorbent polymers, effervescent formulations, pharmaceutical molecules, organic and inorganic chemistry, and new molecules, to infrared, electrochemical cell, and fluorescence correlation detection systems. I thoroughly enjoy working with scientists, gaining a complete understanding of new technologies, and explaining the ins and outs of patent protection to clients and people who have questions regarding the same.
