I have been working since August 2008 until February 2016 in Dubai, UAE in different marine related capacities. I was Marine Advisor (official designation was Marine Expert) to the CEO of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA); I was Board Advisor for a very ambitious project for upgrade of key systems for a country in Africa relating to public marine and air transportation, energy development and developing public education infrastructure; and, over the last 3 years, I had my own management consulting company where I was offering service as Technical Advisor to a company operating some 70 Tugs and Barges.During the previous 7 years, from 2001 to 2008, I was Shipyard Manager, Project Director, Senior Project Manager in two of the leading Australian Defence related shipyards. During the previous 3 years from 1998 to 2001, I was Engineering Manager in a major Australian Defence shipyard/Dockyard.The other various positions of significance I have held over the previous 15 years were being Senior Surveyor in charge of major Sections within the Hong Kong Government Marine Department, being (acting) Vessel Surveys Manager of the Waterways Authority, New South Wales and being Assistant Production Engineering Manager of a large Australian Shipyard.I have a degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture and an MBA from one of the top ten globally recognized universities together with an advanced Diploma in Project Management. I am also the holder of the coveted certificate of competency as Extra First Class Engineer (Steam & Motor) issued by the Department of Transport, UK. I have been accepted at Fellow and Full Member levels in the most established professional institutes of Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture and Management in the UK, USA, Australia and India, and currently hold the post nominals “MBA; C.Eng; C. Mar.Eng; F.I. Mar.in; MRINA; MSNAME; MPD”.
