Hello! I'm AJ, a simple bloke from England who found his way into powerlifting and internet marketing. You might be wondering how I got from there to here, right? Let me share a bit of my story.From Humble Beginnings to Hoop DreamsGrowing up in a financially challenged household in England, I learned early the value of a pound and the power of a dream. My ticket out? Basketball! At 16, I set sail to the US as a foreign exchange student, chasing my hoop dreams. But like a plot twist in a novel, I got a setback: banned from sports in my senior year. But hey, every cloud has a silver lining, and I found mine in powerlifting.From Powerlifting Champ to Fitness GuruSwapping the basketball for dumbbells, I discovered a new passion and talent. I hustled hard, broke records, and became a world champ and world record holder. You can imagine, I was feeling pretty strong! After college, I took that passion and knowledge to Kentucky, managing a health club's personal training department. There I learned a crucial truth - success is not just about muscle but marketing and sales too!Making My Mark in MarketingLeaving the weights for a bit, I delved deep into marketing. From running a Fitness Business Consulting firm's marketing operations to partnering with the amazing Yanik Silver for the famous Underground Online Seminar, I found my groove. This opened doors to a partnership with Andy Jenkins and Mike Filsaime at Marketing Genesis.Bridging Fitness and BusinessNever forgetting my love for fitness, I brought it back into the mix. I worked with Barbell Shrugged, helping fitness professionals grow their businesses. Then, in 2016, I launched my own coaching program to support fitness professionals, putting all those marketing lessons to use.Rising to the Top in SaaSIn 2018, I stepped up to become Chief Revenue Officer at Genesis Digital, creators of WebinarJam, EverWebinar, and Kartra. There, I tripled the company's revenue between 2018 and 2021 - a career highlight! As the company has grown I've now transitioned to Chief Evangelist, promoting the SaaS products I truly believe in.Living My PassionMy journey hasn't been a straight line, and I wouldn't want it any other way! I've been lucky to fuse my passion for fitness, marketing, and coaching to make a real difference. Now, I strive every day to help others achieve their dreams, just like I did mine. And in doing so, I never forget to share a laugh or two, because life is too short to take too seriously!!
