Funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions as part of the TALENTS Doctoral Network, my research focuses on investigating the impact of large- and small-scale tectonics on geothermal potential across a rift system (where the lithosphere is being pulled apart), such as in the Upper Rhine Graben between France and Germany. I am conducting long-term.

This is a side project I have been working on with my partner, who specializes in mechanical engineering. We aim to build clean technology devices that improve urban living but not at the cost of the environment. This means that they are long-lasting, easy to fix, and made with sustainable materials. I investigated the dynamics of rifting via numerical modelling using supercomputers. I simulated multiple layers of rock of various physical properties (e.g., temperature, strain, composition) undergoing extension and deformation for millions of years. The models allowed us to find out what factors control the tectonic process and what physical conditions.

I processed and mapped preliminary geophysical data (e.g., magnetic, induced polarization, and gravity surveys) using Geosoft Montaj. I also developed map templates and control scripts for the software to streamline map production.

I examined the stratigraphic profiles from a seismic reflection survey of the Lake Simard basin, western Quebec, Canada. We identified two sediment layers that reflect the changing depositional environment during the retreat of the Laurentide Ice Sheet (an ice sheet that covered most of North America).
