Akanksha has over 4.5 years of experience in public policy and economic research. She is currently working as a Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning Specialist at Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence (WIAI). She assesses the ground-level impact brought about by the tech-for-good products developed by the WIAI Machine Learning team.She has prior work experience of working as a Research Associate at Inclusion Economics India Centre (formerly known as Evidence for Policy Design, India). She is interested in development & planning, poverty alleviation & measurement, and public health challenges.She enjoys working with numbers, has worked with BigData analysis to identify causalities of poverty and is proficient with STATA, Python, SQL and R. In her spare time she enjoys dabbling in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques to understand how such tools may be applied to solve real-world socio-economic problems.Her research interests also include the comparative analysis of poverty and welfare in South-East Asian countries and the utilisation of randomised controlled trials to understand behavioural aspects of development.
