During my internship period, I had a precious opportunity to conducting and learning the testing system for materials (mostly metals) and marine products in accordance with the rules recognized by BKI. The testing methods commonly used for those materials and marine products are Mechanical Test such as Tensile Tests, and Notched Bar Impact Tests and Non-Destructive Test such as Penetrant Test (PT) and Ultrasonic Test (UT). Furthermore, I reviewed various certification procedures, test approval documents related to inspection services, certificate issued and other matters. I also studied deeply the rules of PT BKI made and commonly used in Material and Component division including Rules BKI Part 1 Volume III (Rules for Machinery Installations), Rules BKI Part 1 Volume V (Rules for Materials), dan Rules BKI Part 1 Volume VI (Rules for Welding) through mentoring activities held by engineers of Material and Component division of PT BKI.
