Patient Observer
CurrentAssists the nursing staff by providing close observation of primarily adult patients that present with behaviors that may increase the patient’s risk of a fall, or further injury to themselves or others. Such behaviors include but are not limited to: attempting to ambulate when it is not clinically indicated because of a surgical intervention (e.g., a fresh postoperative total hip replacement); removing therapeutic supplies/equipment/tubes/devices that are required for their medical care; wandering, because of confusion or altered mental status due to injury, intake of substance abuses, alcohol withdrawal or organic brain syndromes
