Following the initial review and planning to determine the best strategy, in 2014 we launched a new e-commerce website fully integrated with the in-store stock system. Representing an array of high end brands meant adhering to stringent brand guidelines. Working directly with these brands, ensuring, once online approval was secured, that their brand values and online sales criteria are adhered to alongside the sufficient brand adjacencies.My expertise in web development complimented a valuable collaboration with the website development agency. Overcoming technical challenges we continued to push the features and user experience of our website since launch.I setup detailed procedures for data input via the CRM and CMS. Also implementing procedures for the fulfilment process including delivery and returns policies from cost, timescales, packaging, labelling, processing and systems related despatch.Social media and digital channels accelerate towards the visual therefore using my photography and video production skills added a welcome variety to the role. Analysing social media trends, website analytics and other data metrics became an increasing challenge. Investigating solutions for analysing an increasing amount of data, understand customers and forming new techniques to improve engagement. As part of a technology drive in the business, I performed training to staff and oversaw the roll out of tablet devices across the store to improve internal communications, customer service and driving social media content. Omni-channel retail is the future and Voisins in 2015 were the first retailer in the Channel Island to trial Beacons. Meanwhile we continued to look at new ways technology can enhance the overall customer experience in-store and across multiple channels – these include digital signage and a touchscreen store directory. This all means more control for our clients and the friendly icon based design ensures ease of use throughout. For clients who want a familiar interface with the freedom of internal or 3rd party future web development, or if a bespoke solution isn't suitable to requirements/budget. We supply open source cms development including Wordpress, Magento and Joomla.The CMS is just a part of the overall service on offer. With a continued focus on branding, strong design, user experience and functionality. The manner with which I approach and manage projects is very efficient and follows a stringent 'form follows function' workflow. Design Understood provide the supporting services of web; Social Media management, Email Marketing and SEO. My skill set with Design Understood expands into jQuery and AJAX. These languages bring feature rich, animated and interactive content to users across all browser/platforms. Increasingly important with the limitations of Flash on handheld devices. My coding involves customising existing plug-in solutions and coding my own from scratch. Personal development included building skills in client liaison, pricing, quoting and project management. Other services focused on graphic design; logos, flyers, posters, stationary. All of these services I provided myself, only outsourcing for services such as print or photograpy work. My reach expanded over time to provide for UK and international clients. With the ongoing demand for websites I found my career leading further more in this direction and I began getting heavily involved in standards compliant XHTML and CSS2.0 which soon progressed onto server side scripting in ASP and PHP.When expansion became necessery I gradually worked more alongside other freelancers, mostly designers and I progressed further into the programming side of website development.
