Safety is first. The first time this sentence came to life for me. I was proud to be a member of this family. Working under world-class safety procedures, the importance of standard operating procedures, discipline procedure importance at management, so every part of institutionalism changed my point of view about mining operation. I had experience first time in SAG mill, dry tailing stocking, and tailing paste fill operation first time in the Efemcukuru gold mine. The plant was under the control of full automation and this caused me to start to train myself in data science. Sharper definitions can be done with these every-minute processing and storing data by the system of data science. I worked actively in continuous improvement projects (5S - Kaizen). I took this "continuous improvement, but via small steps" system seriously in my daily and professional life. The small steps that seemed insignificant the first time caused impossible changes at the end, I witnessed some of them.Good companies can cause congested career life. I wanted to evaluate new possibilities and resigned.

This experience was my first Heap Leach operation experience. I was responsible for crushing, agglomeration, and leach pad planning. Working under heavy winter conditions, insufficient water management and lots of operator control because of manual plant operation were the main challenges of this operation. I have got the chance to start the project of combining production planning and maintenance planning together. It was proved again, maximizing production can be possible with perfect maintenance planning. I accepted to offer of Eldorado Gold co. and I resigned.

This experience was my first job in a different country and culture. I had got the experience to work in the process ​from first construction to first Gold Pouring. Commissioning, Liberian operator training, the first working system occurring (shift system, tasks, micromanagement system), and building the reporting system were my priority tasks. Every geography needs to be evaluated under its own conditions, I learned. The purchasing system was working under heavy conditions. We needed to keep under control all supplies. Furthermore, we as engineers had tasks to be a cultural bridge between Turkish operators and Librarian operators. This was a really challenging but also a great experience. I had the chance to work with the gold reactor (Acacia) - gravity separator system because of nugget gold besides CIP operation. However, after a year, the heavy conditions and insufficient infrastructure conditions were informed to the management but mine management refused to do improvement about these conditions. A total resignation has been made including me.

Midi Hill was my first professional job. Process Manager and senior engineers resigned on my 20th day. :) It was a challenge, however, the operation succeeded in running production until the new engineering team got in charge. The plant's main operation was the two-line flotation which is pyrite and sphalerite flotation and pyrite concentre feeds to the CIP unit. (Yes, do not feed sulfide ore to the CIP tanks :) ). The plant was operating fully manual. The first metallurgical laboratory has occurred, the reagents consumption has been started to record, the metallurgical account has been reordered and the daily report system has been started, the management problems have been recorded and shared with operation management, at this 8-month duration. I resigned there because of the unsuitable social infrastructure and long, endless working time. Family is important more than everything.
