About Md. Aktar Khan

Working since 2013 as the General Manager (Technical) and currently serving as the Head of Technical for the past 3 years at Mir Telecom Group, I am responsible for overseeing the Data Center and Cloud services as well as International and Domestic voice services for the following subsidiaries:Mir Telecom Ltd. (International Gateway IGW, Voice Service Provider), Bangla Telecom Ltd. (Interconnection Exchange ICX, Domestic Voice Service Provider) & Coloasia Ltd. (A leading Data Center and Cloud Service Provider). Coloasia Ltd. is the Rated-3 and leading data center provider in Bangladesh. I play a pivotal role in designing, building, and establishing our own data center, as well as overseeing its overall operations. I hold certifications for CDCP, CDCS and CCNA. Additionally, I successfully completed the "Huawei Fusion Cloud 6.X Cloud Data Center Solution" Training in November '18.My career at Mir Telecom Ltd. began in March '10, where I initially worked as a Manager (O&M) specializing in voice and telecom expertise over TDM and IP. In 2012, I was promoted to Deputy General Manager, and since 2013, I have been serving as the General Manager.In 2008, I joined Huawei Technologies (BD) Ltd. as a Project Manager, overseeing the managed service operation of the Mir Telecom Managed Service Project. During my tenure at Huawei, I was also involved in the Augere Bangladesh Wimax NOC MS Project and the Telecom Malaysia (TM) NGN MS Project.Prior to that, from 2005 to 2008, I worked at Onetel Communication Ltd, a PSTN in the North West Zone. In this role, I was responsible for the core and access network operations, serving as Deputy Manager.Commencing my IT career in 2000, I joined Gonophone Bangladesh Ltd., a Nationwide Internet Service Provider, where I worked until 2004. During my time there, I was responsible for WAN & MAN operations.Currently, I am also actively engaged with the Business Development and Corporate Affairs Team, where I keep track of market trends, current and upcoming policies and regulations, and adopt new technologies. I work closely with customers to meet their requirements, ensure service satisfaction, and plan new data center and cloud projects, including site selection, budget forecasting, and managing CAPEX & OPEX.
