About Alaina Arnold
Hi! I'm Alaina, a recent graduate from Dartmouth College with a BA in Computer Science Modified with Digital Arts and a minor in Studio Art.I love finding unique ways to combine my technical, artist, and design skills, and am seeking opportunities where I can use my skill-set to help build into the future. I am currently interested in software development roles, but my past experiences in art, design, publications, (and even bread-making!) will aid me in my professional future, as well.📰 From my work as an Editorial Intern at PR Luxury Media and Editor-in-Chief of my high school's newspaper, I learned the importance of studying a consumer base to create a product that best caters to their needs. These experiences taught me how to be a leader and showed me how to rise to the challenge at a young age.🎓 In my position as a teaching assistant, I rediscovered my passion for using problem-solving skills and forming a deep understanding of the student and their background to find the best way to communicate a concept to them. Seeing the moment when something "clicks" for someone and watching a person's skills develop over time is one of the most fulfilling experiences for me.💻 At the DEV Studio. I learned to not shy away from experimentation and to not be afraid to fail. Here, I had the freedom to explore and try out new roles. I pushed myself to develop my skills and learn ones unfamiliar to me, despite the discomfort of the unknown.📝 In working collaboratively on all my projects (see projects section featuring an animated short, a VR escape room, a journaling web app, and more), my love of the entire process of designing, developing, and building new experiences and technologies was solidified. 💡Finally, these experiences culminated in my gap year, where I reflected on my past experiences and passions, explored new hobbies, and discovered a love for making bread! Please feel free to reach out if you share similar interests or know of opportunities in software development that could use my skill-set! *And, if you would like to hear my spiel, ask me about the striking similarities in how I approach printmaking (and my other studio work), bread-making, and coding projects. :)
