I am an ambitious and dedicated young researcher with a passion for Biotechnology and Bioresource Engineering. Currently, I am employed as an Analytical Chemist at Pathogenia Inc, specializing in cannabinoid profiling using HPLC and GC techniques. My responsibilities encompass data review, as well as the development, troubleshooting, and validation of analytical methods.I completed my MSc. in Bioresource Engineering from McGill University (QS rank: 27) in the summer of 2022. Notably, during my thesis, I employed an innovative solvent-free mechanoenzymatic hydrolysis technology to convert plant biomass into a furanic platform chemical known as 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). The outcomes of my MSc. thesis were published in the esteemed Bioresource Technology journal (Impact factor: 11.88).I have obtained another sophisticated MSc. degree from Finland in MBIOT (Master's in Biotechnology) program at the reputed University of Helsinki (QS rank: 104). Later on, I also worked there as a full-time project employee for 3 years in the Protein technology group in Chemical Engineering Department at Aalto University (QS rank: 112). The objective of this project was to heterologously express and characterize non-catalytic Cerato-platanins and Loosenin-like proteins that are hypothesized to have cellulose-disruptive effects and could potentially contribute to the improvement of enzyme-mediated cellulose hydrolysis. Excitingly, the novel findings from this project were published in the Applied and Environmental Microbiology journal. My areas of expertise include Primer designing, Recombinant protein expression in Pichia pastoris, Colony blot assay, Gel Electrophoresis, Western blotting, Protein quantification (Bradford and BCA assay) Protein production in shake-flask and bioreactor, Protein purification using FPLC and Ion exchange chromatography, MALDI-TOF-MS analysis, Protein activity assays, Mechanoenzymatic hydrolysis, ball milling, HPLC, GC and LC-MS, DNS assay, PAHBAH assay, glucose isomerization and conversion of monosaccharides to HMF with chemical catalytic system, Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) etc. Overall, I believe that my practical experiences, coupled with the extensive theoretical background I have obtained over the past years, make me a highly compatible researcher in my field. I am eagerly looking forward to being part of an amazing team where I can devote my expertise and knowledge to the development of a sustainable bioeconomy in the long run.
