This year will be my 38th year of unbroken employment in the industry (fingers crossed!). I began work after making the daft decision to purchase, along with my brother, a PA system for our band. This was in 1983. By 1985 we were full time and growing. Up until 1998 I spent my time putting audio systems in, taking them out and doing all the monitor engineering that was required. After 1998, due to an increasing need to supply large scale corporate event systems, I became more management than gig staff, although, just like the present day, I still spent a great deal of time on site getting my hands dirty and ensuring our clients were happy.Fx Music, for that was the name of our company, were an Audio only specialist. In 2011, sensing that the winds of change were blowing, we decided to merge Fx Music with Centre Stage UK Ltd. This allowed a multi discipline approach - Sound, Lights and Staging all under one roofIn 2013 I decided to join an old friend, Stuart Turvill, as Operations Manager for his firm W1 Productions Ltd. I still hold that position, spending my time travelling Europe and the UK, managing, as well as building, events for corporate clients.
