Business Analytics SME for the Financial Services team for United States east. Responsible for the development of custom PoC’s on customer site to drive new sales, customer retention and to increase deployment footprint. Responsible for the creation of multi-product reusable demonstration assets showing Cognos integration with heterogenous data sources, authentication providers and portals. These included custom demonstrations of AML, mortgage risk and credit card payment analytics. Trusted partner to current customers regarding performance issues, enterprise infrastructure and integration discussions, and their potential suitability for cloud deployments. Responsible for the installation and maintenance of Cognos and supporting software (DB2 BLU, SQL Server, Apache Directory, IBM Open Platform, Apache Hadoop, DashDB-Local etc) on multiple servers running Windows 2012 and Red Hat Linux 6/7.

Advanced technical support for the Sales and pre-Sales organization. Cognos was acquired by IBM in 2008.

Senior member of team responsible for the design and implementation of the corporate financial data warehouse. Responsibilities included general ledger, accounts receivable, framework manager and Cognos Administration functions including the security infrastructure. All were full SDLC projects encompassing data warehouse design, ETL process and front-end presentation. Applications were designed using the full set of Cognos ReportNet and Series 7 products (Report Studio, Powerplay, IWR, Access Manager).

Senior member of team that designed and implemented marketing analysis and sample effectiveness applications. These applications used Cognos Visualizer, Powerplay and Impromptu as the front-end to an Oracle star-schema design. Responsibilities included front-end reporting and back-end design based on Kimball data warehouse design principles.

Berkley Heights, Nj

Member of development team to design and implement BI applications for NCR’s standard industry data models. This effort produced applications using both Cognos and Microstrategy products. The effort also required that design modifications be made to the standard data model for reasons of customization and performance. The team was one of four teams nominated for the Presidents award for outstanding dedication and effort. The majority of my time at NCR was as a virtual employee, which meant that I worked 95% of my time from home and as such, I was required to be self-motivated and able to work on my own.

Newark, Nj

Team Leader of Financial Database (FDB) production support. The overall system consisted of approximately seventy load and extract programs written in COBOL or SQL. Users received reports from this system produced by multiple methods (COBOL, Crystal Reports). I was the main advocate for the use of Impromptu to replace these reports, and created a POC system before leaving.
