Covenant Retirement Communities (CRC) is a national company, comprised of 14 campuses across the country, strongly affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant church, providing multiple levels of health care and service to all residents.Monthly responsibilities include uploading of financials, estate distribution tracking, workers compensation schedule, health insurance lag analysis, statistics (tracking resident census), bank reconciliations, invoice tracking, unclaimed property, and government reporting. Tasks require me to communicate with campuses, and vendors, to complete work in observance to deadlines and quality management practices. Responsibilities demand adherence to company policies, government regulations, and GAAP standards.Key Results:Managed the accurate and timely processing of statistics, by tracking resident days and total residents on multiple levels of care, while simultaneously checking the entries against the general ledger. Statistics provide information for bank loans, letters of credit, and are presented to the executive board on a quarterly basis.Input the necessary entries (both manually and with upload templates) into Lawson Accounting software, reconcile outstanding checks, write reports, and invoices.

Jimmy John’s is a quick service restaurant chain that prides itself on fresh bread, fast service, and flawless accuracy.Held many positions during my tenure at Jimmy John’s, which gave me an understanding of every aspect of the company. The managerial role required me to prepare and close the restaurant, do weekly inventory, communicate with customers, set daily projections, and close each shift financially. This required reconciliation of credit card machines, on-line orders, ‘cashing out’ drivers, counting the ‘drawer’, and making an accurate ‘drop’.Key Results:Gained cash management experience, while applying general accounting knowledge, which reinforced my education concurrently.

Student government treasurer, built an entire tracking schedule (for over 30 clubs in three categories), managed a $160,000 budget, and was in an advisory role between the university’s faculty and students. As S.A.A.C. treasurer we held all-athlete gatherings, did ‘50-50’ raffle ticket sales at home games, small marketing campaigns for teams, and held a fundraiser for the Susan G. I was an intern who was asked to complete a range of tasks: donation tracking, annual meeting planning, managing day to day operations while the president was traveling, wrote a blog, and used raisers edge software.

As an intern I was asked to work with legislation proposals for additions to the hospital, do research on the competitive landscape on the north side of Chicago, also a S.W.O.T. analysis, and explore new avenues for the hospital.

As an intern I was asked to prepare, set up, work, and do finishing touches on the Bonnaroo music festival outside of Nashville, TN. I helped to manage all of the day time sets done at one of six stages of the festival, and was a driver van driver to help relieve stress during the week.
