Servers were either upgraded to newer OS versions, virtualised or consolidated onto existing physical or virtual assets; line-of-business and infrastructure applications were analysed and upgraded, consolidated, replaced or decommissioned as required.• Managed a key project to migrate Windows Server 2003 R2 Active Directory forest to Heineken’s centrally managed Windows 2008 R2 Domain, using Microsoft Active Directory Migration toolkit.• Designed, documented and implemented Microsoft SCCM 2012 and Symantec Endpoint Protection infrastructure to replace legacy Altiris infrastructure to support Windows 7 SP1.• Migrated legacy Windows NT4 and Windows 2000 domains to Windows 2003 Active Directory.

• Facilitated remote working for onshore users; significantly improved application performance for offshore users by implementing and managing Citrix Metaframe Presentation Server 4.0. • Planned and deployed Windows Server 2003 Active Directory domain within corporate forest.• Used Quest Domain Migration Wizard to consolidate eight legacy Windows NT domains into the Active Directory forest. • Replaced the legacy BackupExec installation with Veritas NetBackup; redesigned and documented the enhanced backup process. • Implemented disk-based and D2D2T backups, which resulted in a 50% improvement in back up run time against production systems. • Deployed and supported the server infrastructure to support video streaming and storage on a diving and inspection vessel.

• Completed Enterprise Oil’s Aberdeen office move; dismantled, moved and restored all systems and network links to full operation within three days.• Replaced approx. 300 PCs at Enterprise Oil’s onshore and offshore premises. • Planned, created and deployed a standard build; completed backup and restoration of local data, audited applications on each desktop, and reinstalled software onto individual PCs as required.• Took over second- and third-line support to several third-party clients covering desktop hardware and software, Windows NT and 2000 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Citrix MetaFrame XP, and Windows, Exchange and UNIX backups with Veritas NetBackup.
