Our aim is to help firms put the interests of their customers and the integrity of the market at the core of what they do.The way we think about the firms and sectors we supervise is designed to support the FCA’s ability to be a forward-looking regulator that acts earlier to identify and address problems before they cause widespread harm.In doing so, we help the FCA meet its objectives of securing an appropriate degree of protection for consumers, protecting and enhancing the integrity of the UK financial system, and promoting effective competition in the interests of consumers.I am part of the new Payments Department within the Retail Banking Supervision sub-division. Our department is responsible for the supervision of Payment Services firms, including E-Money. We are also responsible for the supervision of the payment services of other financial institutions. This is an exciting and dynamic sector which is constantly evolving which makes it an extremely interesting sector to oversee.
