I am the senior systems administrator for UNC Finance and Operations IT and manager of the Infrastructure and Operations Group. My team manages essential applications across the university responsible for numerous core functions. Finance and Operations IT supports 150+ business applications used by the central infrastructure at UNC supporting over 24,000 people. We support Finance, Payroll, Police, Transportation and Parking, Horace Williams Airport, Facilities and Facilities Shops, GIS, Planning, Dining Services, Housing and Housing Services, Energy Distribution and Administration and more.I am responsible for systems maintenance, infrastructure planning and architecture, security management, backup planning and disaster recovery, team leadership and mentorship and project management. My skillset for this role includes: WIndows OS (server and desktop) administration, Active Directory administration, SCCM/MECM management (application and patch deployment, asset management and inventory), network architecture (VLANs, firewall, etc), application management and lifecycling, data storage and Microsoft SQL.
