About Alan Gardner

Working in construction over the past 15 years has given me the opportunity to wear many hats … Client-side project management, main contractor management, consultancy project management … This has given me a unique insight into the construction industry. It has allowed me to become a successful business co-owner as I can easily relate any project to any duty holder in construction.Client side – Having worked as a client-side project manager I understand the needs of the client and the end user. I can relate to ensuring internal budgets are met and the struggles of stakeholders expectations. Main Contractor – Working as a large main contractor I can recognize that safety is paramount for all internal staff and subcontractors. I also recognise the need to hit certain OH&P for projects and how failing on this KPI can affect the overall business and the outcome of further work.Consultancy – I realize that certain organisations required further professional help with construction projects. These are normally larger more complex projects that I learnt to take a step back and look at the bigger picture – It also helped me understand project governance weather that be within CDM or specific client-side requirements that also need to be met. This has also given me the chance to have a deeper understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.Business Director – The paragraphs above have helped shape me within the construction industry and have allowed me to become a successful business director.
