Senior Project Engineer
CurrentNicholas O’Dwyer provides engineering design, environmental assessment, project management and construction supervision services, both in Ireland & internationally. I work in the Wastewater Department in Dublin as a Senior Project Engineer, reporting either directly to the Project Manager or Technical Director for each project.Some of my responsibilities• Co-ordination of design team for specimen design of collection network, including programming of delivery milestones and monitoring progress.• Civil design of gravity sewers, rising mains and pump stations, and MEICA design of pump stations.• Liaison with major stakeholders (Cork County Council, Port of Cork, Gardai, Irish Rail, ESB, Bord Gais) to ensure stakeholder constraints at interface with proposed works are accounted for in Contract Documents.• Preparation of Specifications, Drawings, ITT, and other Contract Documents in compliance with IW Major Civil Works form of contract.• Tender Evaluation for major civil works contracts, including management of evaluation team, evaluation of quality submissions, compiling tender scoring, chairing consensus meeting with evaluation team, Irish Water & KPMG, tender recommendation report & issuing robust defensible regrets letters to unsuccessful tenders.• Procurement and contract management of preliminary contract works (SI, SUS/CCTV, Topo, Flow & Load) including review of works carried out and issuing payment certificates.
