I started Waterfront Manufacturing in 1999, having worked my way to the role of sole Sales Director within Burlington Uniforms, where I also gained my experience in measuring & fitting garments in Savile Row.For over 20 years Waterfront Manufacturing remains a privately owned company. we work very hard at ensuring customers are happy & we always strive to meet their expectations. We still have many customers that have been with us since we started trading.We run a business that is debt free; we have no overdraft or loans, we own our own premises and we own our embroidery/print equipment outright. This makes us financially stable & as a result has been why we've survived the devastating effect Covid has had on our trade in general. We have achieved this by being a very slick & lean operation over the years and not only do I have my team to thank for making this possible but also a great bunch of loyal customers, who without their continued support none of what we do today would ever have been possible.We are always looking to improve the way we work; trying to do what we do best even better, whilst staying competitively priced. I purchased Pro Clothing in 2019 from an old neighbour on the trading estate where I first set up Waterfront Manufacturing, as he was retiring. The purchase of Pro Clothing has lead to a significant increase in the sales of embroidered workwear & some additional comission embroidery work.

During my time at Burlington Uniforms I worked my way up through the company; starting there in 1988 sourcing, ordering & preparing customer orders for delivery and on many occasions making the deliveries too when I felt the personal service may lead to further business. Within a short time I moved into sales but in the interim I was trained in Savile Row to measure and fit individuals for tailored clothing. Within just a couple of years my success in sales was such that I was securing some very large contracts and at this point I was promoted and in turn given the fantastic opportunity of being promoted to Sales Director and becoming responsible for guiding our growing sales force. Over the years I had built a customer base that made up some 60% of the companies turnover but being keen to search out new business I passed much of the day to day running of my customer base over to the junior sales team and overlooked/guided them on a daily basis while seeking larger government and international contracts which took me into Europe & America.In 1999 I left to start my own company within the same industry.
