Verified compliance with the plan’s medical surveillance and training requirements, and reported any deficiencies to Senior Management.• Served as Dominion Virginia Power’s Industrial Hygiene and Safety liaison during the asbestos abatement of a 70’ high boiler. In this role I verified that all OSHA, EPA, Virginia, and Dominion regulations applicable to asbestos abatement were being adhered to with special emphasis on Dominion’s “Hydro and Fossil 5”: fall protection, barricades, confined space, equipment isolation, and electrical procedures.• Present 1-3 day courses on a variety of EHS topics including confined space, electrical safety, industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead, and mold to professionals in construction and general industry. • Performed a laboratory safety audit at Dominion Virginia Power’s Surry, Virginia Nuclear Power Plant which included a review of the nuclear fleet’s Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) for compliance with OSHA’s laboratory standard.• Conducted an EHS assessment of Randolph Macon College’s laboratories and maintenance shops to identify Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) deficiencies associated with chemical storage and disposal and identify needs for EHS training.• Review contractor submittals on hazardous material abatement projects for compliance with project specifications and all EPA, OSHA, state, and local regulations.• Attained accreditation from AIHA to teach NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course

As PM I was responsible for meeting EA schedule milestones and QA/QC of client deliverables; performing a comprehensive hazardous materials survey of a 350,000 square foot building; and designing the scope of work for the hazardous materials abatement project.• Served as PM for the Byrne-Greene Federal Building Underground Storage Tank (UST) Closure in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As PM I prepared the specifications for the UST closure project to comply with all state and federal regulations; reviewed contractor Requests for Information (RFI’s) and submittals; and provided contractor oversight during the UST closure process.

• Completed a variety of environmental projects including hazardous material inspections, project oversight during asbestos and mold abatement projects and Phase I ESAs.• Performed a comprehensive hazardous materials survey as part of the decommissioning of the Millennium Chemical Plant in Baltimore, Maryland. In support of this survey I provided proper personal protective equipment, air monitoring, and decontamination procedures to survey personnel to protect staff from silica and cadmium contamination within the site buildings. • Surveyed over 1 million square feet of occupied retail space for asbestos-containing materials as part of the Springfield Mall Renovation in Springfield, Virginia.

• Published an accident reporting guide for both Army and civilian employees which instructed staff within the U.S. Army Materiel Command on specific procedures to follow in the case of an occupational accident.• Prepared a monthly safety newsletter which addressed such issues as radiation safety, laboratory safety, sick building syndrome, and heat and cold stress.

• Collected personnel air samples to verify compliance with OSHA Personal Exposure Limits (PELs) as part of a Silica Negative Exposure Assessment at a concrete crushing facility in Landover, Maryland. Utilized air sample results to determine compliance with OSHA standards and appropriate respiratory protection for workers.• Inspected asbestos abatement containments within the U.S. Capitol Visitor's Center in Washington, DC to ensure protection of occupant health during abatement.

• Utilized environmental knowledge to assist in the handling, transportation, and storage of chemicals in support of various projects.

• Provided project oversight and air sampling during federal asbestos and lead abatement projects to satisfy client and public health concerns and ensure compliance of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
