  MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN – EQUIPMENT​​June 2002 – Nov 2009Level 3 Equipment Technician .Part of a team of 3 in Planar, conducting preventative maintenance on highly calibrated machines / tool sets. These machines were mechanical in nature incorporating DC systems, vacuum systems, pneumatics, robotics, 3 phase electrical systems and optical sensors.• Scheduled daily, quarterly and semi-annual preventative maintenance checks on machines to coincide with production targets. Ran wafer based preventative maintenance based on production volumes. These required powering the machine down and locking it out safely, stripping of parts, changing consumables, testing and qualifying the machine for re-use.• Completed unscheduled maintenance in response to tool malfunctions to ensure quality and production were not impacted where possible. Trouble-shooted tools from the schematics, using specifications and manuals to instigate repairs and escalated any unresolved issues to engineering.• Improved machine efficiency using lean manufacturing principles to ensure processes and procedures were as lean as possible in order not to waste consumables or man hours.• Conducted on-going quality control precision checks on the machines to ensure the highest levels of manufacturing efficiency.MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN – OPERATOR​​June 2000 – June 2002 • Working in a Class 1 Clean Room environment loaded 10 toolsets with semi-conductor wafers in the Planar group. This required a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work to challenging production output targets without compromising quality.
