The development, programming, management and reporting of an effective inspection and Programme, ensuring safety, asset performance and service levels are maintained in conjunction with the delivery of wider SC strategic goals. Reporting on the performance of the network, the efficient use of resources and providing accurate data to allow informed decision making.By using engineering experience, innovation and skill will review and set inspection standards and procedures. Monitoring the delivery of this inspection programme including reviewing the condition of the assets over time to report on degradation rates and whole life cycles and optimised asset replacement. Using engineering skill will undertake and review inspection recommendations and will prioritise defects and work items to ensure legal compliance and risk management. Prioritisation will feed directly in to works programmes. Ensure compliance of Asset Management systems. Review inspection strategies and suggest innovation and development to derive best value and efficiency.Manage the Length Inspectors, undertake training and mentoring and deploy this resource effectively.Provide training and technical support to Length Inspectors to ensure compliance with inspection programmes, procedures and provision of data to AMX.
