Advisory Board members work with the Executive Director of the Center and the staff to ensure the successful operation of the center, it's program and activities.Members of the board assist in fundraising as needed to support the Center and often lead board established committee and/or serve on ad hoc committees.In 2013-2014 I served as chairman of the Social Responsibility Committee and as co-chair of the annual BASH Fundraising Dinner.

The Board of Directors is responsible for the establishment of policies and procedures, approval of an annual budget, approval of monthly expenditures necessary to operate the Corporation, negotiating the hire and contract for the President and CEO of the Corporation and conducting public hearings and meetings as necessary.I served as Vice-Chairman of the Board from 2013 - 2017

Led the original board of directors of the Lawrence Early College High School for a period of 3 years. Participated in the screening and hire of two Executive Directors and several faculty and staff positions. Worked with board members to establish a budget and adopt policies and procedures during the formation of this early college charter school. Worked with the staff members from the Mayor of Indianapolis' Charter School office to track the schools progress and ensure that the school was meeting goals as prescribed by that office.

Served as a member of the Board of Education. Responsible for setting and reviewing educational and operational polices for a 17,000 student suburban school district. Also responsible for review and approval of the annual budget for the school district. ($135 million)Participated in the screening and hiring of the District superintendent and also served on the screening committees for several assistant superintendent and director candidate searches.Served as the Board liaison to the Lawrence Township School Foundation Board of Directors.During my board tenure I held the positions of Board President, Vice-President, and Secretary.
