Overseeing all aspects of financial shared services for country and global operations--inclusive of accounting, finance, internal controls, PTP, OTC, deal administration, and site governance--I direct daily centre operations while ensuring attainment of objectives for service delivery and upholding policies, procedures, and controls. Highlights of my contributions include:• Heading expansion of the shared services technology operation following separation of Xerox Technology from Xerox Services to include establishing and setting up a regional headquarters, creating critical governance frameworks, and defining core operating and finance processes.• Fostering continuous growth to a status as a high-level, complex accounting centre with direct accountability for 50% of all enterprise accounting personnel including consolidation, treasury, internal control, and lease/equipment revenue functions.• Achieving a record of zero internal controls breakdowns or SOX deficiencies during my tenure.• Earning a reputation for meeting the plan and budget while reducing costs by upward of 10% year-over-year locally and ensuring plans and budgets for transition and transformation for accounting and finance were met globally.• Championing automation and transformation initiatives to catalyse savings and improve employee utilisation outcomes.• Successfully reducing the attrition rate from 25% to less than 8% by creating a work culture valuing autonomy, flexibility, and accountability.• Ensuring the seamless movement of more than 600+ personnel within the shared services organisation during my tenure, minimising disruptions across accounting, finance, tax, and other business divisions.

Leading the internal audit function for the entire EMEA region encompassing Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, I directed audit planning, execution, delivery, and reporting to meet corporate requirements.Highlights of my contributions include:• Producing invaluable audit reports effective in assessing internal risk and providing rationale for strategic decision making for process improvement across call centres, mergers and acquisitions, and systems implementation.• Identifying critical gaps in EMEA financial processes as well as mergers and acquisitions protocols, uncovering and remediating major areas of risk.• Utilising Tableaux to prove the efficacy of a new billing system, avoiding a costly replacement scenario.• Cultivating positive relationships with internal stakeholders, leading presentations across European and other offices to advise on the outcomes of control reviews.• Personally identifying serious gaps within a new, large-scale system implementation, initiating a project team to proactively alleviate potential financial, billing, and sales order implications.

Global Position

Ensuring compliance within European shared services operations, I evaluated the fulfilment of US and local GAAP requirements in accounting, cash collection, and call centre functions. Further, I led a seven-person team in executing standard processes and special initiatives for risk assessment reflective of monitoring, documentation, and report production. Highlights of my contributions include:• Controlling the outsourcing of shared services to IBM multi-location sites spanning India, Bulgaria, Scotland, and Poland in 2008, meeting all project objectives while avoiding a significant reduction to control structures.• Exceeding expectations in the delivery of SOX 404 program for European shared services organisation inclusive of IBM outsourced sites, ultimately owning 33% of SOX texting across the EMEA area.• Advising management on best practices for introducing efficiencies while maintaining controls.• Devising a full set of controls to sustain levels of risk assessment and management throughout the planning, testing, and implementation of new processes and systems.
