I am the inventor of the Tblock. It is a modular shape that is made of concrete only. It is a simple and clever unit that can be used to build structures that address coastal erosion and landslip issues. Unlike other solutions, it is easy to manufacture, easy to transport, and easy to assemble. A tidal causeway is the only access, which links to a road that sits on top of low boulder clay cliffs partially protected by a sea wall. Continued erosion of the soft boulder clay left the southern end of the seawall exposed. The long term stability of the access road was at risk. Remedial work was needed to protect the interface between the existing sea wall and the softer cliffs to the south. We created and used TBlocks to solve the problem, where it has been a huge success.The TBlock system is simple, efficient and very cost effective defence system which is low maintenance and easily modified to accommodate increased heights and extensions.Prior to studying coastal erosion and flood prevention I worked with design teams at the Marconi Research and Development establishment in Chelmsford. MoD projects included a satellite dish for Ascension Island, and an air to ground missile.
