Lead Advanced Repair Agent
The foundational education of my prior jobs allowed me to have a much smoother transition into my current role. In my current position I am training employees, creating task lists, setting up new hardware, troubleshooting software such as Microsoft office and adobe creative suite. Although I have experience in my field there is always something new to learn. Every interaction allows me to hone my troubleshooting, teaching or Customer service skills. I still uphold the belief that I should never turn any issue away without, first reaching an understanding of the problem and clearly relaying a solution. With the added benefit of having anyone walk through our doors, I find pleasure that no two issues are ever the same. This job has taught me interpersonal skills such as sales in English and Spanish, and converting sales into returning clients.
It Systems Technician/ It Systems Team Lead
Laying a foundation for a career pathWhat started off as fixing WIFI and internet connectivity issues, transformed into a per diem job. The development of this office coincided with my own development as an IT Analyst.I was in charge of every piece of tech in this office, from BYOD units to charting out where all landlines and cabling was going to be installed. I set the correct protocols for every computer, optimized performance of every computer by incrementally upgrading hardware, and setting up LAN groups and servers to keep all pertinent data accessible to those with the correct privilege's. I self taught quickly through books and YouTube videos, I made it a point to write down the flow of every day, find my weaknesses, and learn ways to be more efficient with the little time I had balancing high-school and a job(sometimes 2).I was in charge of putting in a ticketing system(JIRA), setting up every new computer, renewing licenses for Microsoft office, as well as researching which platforms for data and conferencing would be the most beneficial, while taking into consideration budgets and calculating downtime for each of these solutions.By the time I left I was in charge of training full-time Desktop Support Analysts, who would take my responsibilities upon my exit. This is where I learned the bulk of my training, management skills, as well as creating methodologies that could be used for future reference in order to deliver a uniform quality of repairs and customer service.
Quality Assurance Technician
A long road, with a fulfilling outcomeBeing part of the QA team during Black Ops 4 taught me so much about an industry I had been interested in since I was playing on my N64. Being able to see the development cycle in a triple A studio taught me 2 Major lessons.Writing accurate notes saves time and headache: The QA team was in charge of finding these bugs and writing reports on where to find and replicate these issues. If we were to inaccurately report these issues, wouldn't be found which means reports would have to be rewritten in order for these major issues to be fixed. An effective QA understands the importance of small details, Concise notes, and proof of concept/ bug.Communication creates stronger teams: Coordination amongst a team leads to less redundancy and a much more effective team, we all took turns creating daily and even hourly objectives in order to comb our project much faster.
Ios App Developer
Falling with graceI spent most of my time creating Proof of Concept apps for clients looking to pitch ideas to investors, Most of the POC's were created using X-Code, programmed in Swift and OBJ-C. This experience allowed me to be as creative as possible, I found my self with more questions than answers which was exciting for me. Every new app idea came with its own challenges, weather it was learning a new platform for data such as AWS and EC2 Beanstalks, or finding the perfect API that would match the needs of the clients I would develop for. This Position although low paying, allowed me to learn so much in such a short time. Every new app was a trial and error, I have come out knowing so much more about app development and time-management.
Technician
Fixing anything with a power button. This position was definitely the cornerstone of my customer service development however, it also taught me the ins and outs of physical Computer, tablet, and phone repairs. As (at the time) a newly budding company UbreakIfix taught me how to repair smart devices but with a twist, at this position I was trained to never turn repair away without exhausting every single solution. This meant that we would fix anything with a power button, because of this ideology I was fixing phones, tablets and sometimes even toasters or blenders. Every person who stepped into that door was an opportunity to learn something new, and creating clients rather than customers. I learned that a repair was not finished when the device was working, repairs also depend heavily on how that information was going to be communicated to our clients in order for them to find value in each repair.
