As Business Development Director at NDL I’m responsible for defining the value propositions and go to market strategies for our entry into additional business sectors, building on our strength in Local Authorities, Healthcare and Housing Associations. My goal for 2015 is to establish a bridgehead in 3 new sectors, where there are significant data integration and application integration challenges, where there is a mobile workforce, and potentially where there are some structural changes taking place in those markets, such as supply chain integration.Over the last 10 years, initially as Sales Director and then helping to establish the Customer Relations function, I’ve helped to build NDL into a specialist software tools provider in the data integration and enterprise mobile applications sector – currently employing over 40 staff. As Data Integration specialists we know that for most organisations DATA is the elephant in the room – and it’s getting BIGGER every day. As I talk with senior business executives, CTOs and IT Directors the following business challenges come up routinely: • The urgency to enable enterprise mobility – as key staff and other stakeholders need access to applications and data wherever they are• The integration challenges of legacy systems and multi-channel customer communications• The data management challenge within the IT department (storage, transmission, migration, security), with user departments (data capture, synchronisation, access and decision support) and at enterprise level with supply chain partners. I'm contacting business leaders in the Transport, Construction and Finance sectors in the UK to discuss data integration challenges and approaches to joining up systems and mobilising them.
