Lead multidisciplinary root cause analysis teams to evaluate the highest-visibility and highest-consequence (financial and/or regulatory) station issues at the Palo Verde Generating Station, the largest electricity producer in the United States. The cause analysis teams examine not only equipment failure but also the organizational and programmatic barriers that broke down. Once cause is determined, corrective actions to prevent recurrence are developed, implemented, and monitored for effectiveness. Evaluations have been performed on failures related to the following equipment and processes:- Diesel generator support systems- HVAC filters and chillers- 225 ton cranes- Backup gas turbine generators- Isolation valves and check valves- Condenser tubes- Inverters- Relays- Design change process- Preventive maintenance strategy change process

Proactively managed a diverse set of electrical and I&C systems in a manner that ensured near-term and long-term reliability. This included developing long range plans, performance of self-assessments and benchmarking, development and supervision of maintenance strategies, and performance of equipment monitoring, trending, and troubleshooting. The systems managed included:- Impressed and galvanic cathodic protection for buried piping and concrete structures.- 5.5 MW Emergency diesel generators (electrical, I&C, and pneumatic)- Vibration monitoring for the reactor coolant pumps, main feedwater pumps, and main turbines- Reactor coolant system loose parts monitoring- Seismic monitoring- Heat tracing and freeze protection- Offsite emergency evacuation sirens- Grounding and lightning protection- Normal and emergency lighting

Completed the Palo Verde new engineer training program that included formal classroom training, on the job mentoring, oral boards, and rotational assignments through the engineering, operations, oversight, and maintenance organizations.
