I am, first and foremost, person-centered. My resume cannot capture all of what my jobs have entailed: helping a survivor write her victim impact statement, which led to a 75-year sentence for what she was forced to endure; listening and holding space for the stories behind the calls of people needing a resource that did not exist before; the honor of working with families via Total Access and Impact, watching them reach their goals after hearing the words, "I can't do this." Whether I am being (perhaps a little too) meticulous in creating a safe work schedule, answering a phone, or walking into a classroom filled with other mothers' children -- it comes back to people. It matters because they do. That’s all it takes for me.
